Jiangnan University successfully held the Seminar on the Development of New Productivity in the MBA/MEM Education Program and the Appointment Ceremony for Business Mentors on May 5, 2024. The seminar was organized by the Business School, hosted by the MBA Education Center, and co-organized by the MBA Association, MEM Association, and MBA Alumni Association. More than 200 people attended the event, including Liu Changqing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Pu Xujin, Dean of School, Wang Lei, Associate Dean, the management team of the MBA Education Center, prospective 2023 MBA business mentors and students, as well as alumni representatives. Xia Shusen, Vice Chairman of the MBA Association, presided over the seminar.
Pu Xujin, Dean of School, delivered a report titled "Integration of Production and Education, Empowering Each Other, Collaborating Between School and Enterprise" on the practical experience of MBA/MEM education at 18新利体育备用网址 Dean Pu introduced the development and characteristics of the MBA/MEM program since its inception, emphasizing the School's reliance on advantageous disciplines and integration of local economic resources to achieve high-quality development through collaboration between academia and industry, internal and external coordination, and innovation. Subsequently, Dean Pu presented letters of appointment to over thirty business mentor representatives.
Pei Zhiqiang, Head of Engineering and Projects at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals Limited, spoke on behalf of the 2023 MBA business mentors, emphasizing the urgent need to deepen cooperation between universities and enterprises for talent cultivation, which contributes to the development of new productivity. He pledged to work with all mentors, both internal and external to the university, to make greater contributions to the cultivation of outstanding business management talents.
Ma Yonghong, General Manager of Hitachi Pump Manufacturing (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., representing the 2022 MBA business mentors, delivered a presentation titled "Insights on New Productivity." He used practical cases to analyze the innovation of enterprises under the background of new productivity, providing an in-depth interpretation of reforming and innovating production relationships, and forming new management models and institutional mechanisms.
Wang Lei, Associate Dean of the School, announced the Core Group Plan for Career Development in the MBA Education Center, appointing students such as Ling Mi, Kang Yuxin, Zhang Weitao, Huang Jianlei, and An Qi as leaders of core groups in integrated circuits, the Internet of Things, biomedicine, software and information technology services, and finance, respectively.
During the round-table forum, hosted by Ren Hualiang, Associate Professor of the School and Academic Director of the MBA Program, four business mentor guests, including Xiao Pengfei, CFO of De Dietrich Process Systems Equipment (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., Jin Kang, Chairman of Shanghai Xingjia Advertising Design Co., Ltd., Pan Chenglin, Director of an international securities company, and Gao Xiaofeng, Chairman and CEO of Wuxi Wangdao Technology Co., Ltd., shared their insights. They discussed talent cultivation and project development in MBA and MEM under the background of new productivity, offering their understanding of new productivity and insights into the integration and development of educational projects.
The event also included the inauguration ceremony for the MEM Association Executive Committee and the award ceremony for outstanding students in 2023. Liu Changqing presented a flag to the second session of the MEM Association Executive Committee, emphasizing its mission to promote the development of the MEM program and serve the growth of students. The new MEM Association pledged to fulfill its duties with enthusiasm, pragmatism, and innovation, striving to achieve greater results in various aspects of the MEM program. Secretary Liu also awarded certificates of honor to students who received scholarships for new students in 2023. Dean Pu Xujin and Associate Dean Wang Lei presented certificates of honor to students who received honors such as outstanding class cadre and winners of the 2023 MBA/MEM graduate discipline competition.
Since 2012, the MBA Education Center has implemented a "dual mentor system" of internal and external mentors, based on the collaborative mechanism of university-enterprise cooperation. Internal and external mentors jointly guide MBA/MEM students' thesis writing, while the center invites business mentors to give lectures, participate in case studies, and engage in practical learning activities, helping students with career planning and enhancing their learning abilities and comprehensive management qualities. By the end of 2023, the MBA Education Center had hired over a thousand business mentors. The collaboration between academia and industry has provided excellent teaching and practical resources for the development of the MBA/MEM program, supported the integration of enterprises with university research and talent cultivation, and created a mutually empowering situation between universities and enterprises. In the future, under the backdrop of the development of new productivity, the Business School of Jiangnan University will continue to strengthen cooperation with the industry, promote the high-quality and intrinsic development of the MBA/MEM education program, and cultivate more outstanding management talents for local economic development and national construction.
