Admission Criterion

I. Applicants must be non Chinese citizens. Chinese citizens who apply for undergraduate study in China as foreign students after immigrating to a foreign country must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (including), and have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (up to April 30 of the enrollment academic year) (the actual residence in a foreign country for more than 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, based on entry and exit visas).

II. In good health, in line with the provisions of the law of the people's Republic of China on the administration of entry and exit. Those suffering from serious mental disorders, infectious pulmonary tuberculosis or other infectious diseases that may cause major hazards to public health shall not be admitted.

III. To apply for a bachelor's program, you must have at least a senior high school diploma, and the age is no more than 22 years old; to apply for a master's program, you must have at least a bachelor's degree, and the age is no more than 25 years old; to apply for a doctor's program, you must have at least a master's degree, and the age is no more than 30 years old.

IV. International students from non English speaking countries who apply for English-teaching programs should have IELTS 6.5 points, TOEFL 85 points or above, or provide equivalent level of language ability certificate, applicant with good Chinese language skill is preferred; international students who apply for Chinese-teaching programs should have HSK-5 certificate or above.

ApplicationProcedure

I. Individual Application: Theonline registrationand on-site registration

A. Online Registration

The online registration time is from January 1, 2020 toApril 25, 2020(12:00a.m. Beijing time). Applicants who meet the application conditions shall log in the China International Student Service System Fujian agricultural and Forestry University (website:https://fafu.17gz.org/member/login.do) within the specified time limit and submit the application materials listed in Part Four.

B.On-site Registration

We encourage the graduates, masters and other applicants in China who intend to stay in our university for higher education to submit hard copy application materials to the International College. Do not post materials by express company. Hard copy materials should be submitted to the Office 307-2 of International College from March 1, 2020 toApril 25, 2020(8:30-11:30 a.m. and 2:30-5:00 p.m. on working days). The materials will not be returned whether or not applicants are admitted.

II. Preliminary Qualification Examination

The International College will conduct the preliminary qualification examination on the applicants to ensure that the materials are completed, then review the passport, language ability certificate and other materials. After the preliminary qualification examination, the list of qualified applicants and relevant materials will be sent to each training college.

III.Academic Assessment and Determination of the Proposed Admission List

After receiving the list of qualified applicants, the training college will choose applicants for academic assessment based on the materials submitted.The Proposed Admission Listwill be determined after the academic assessment, which is conducted by face-to-face communication, online video or telephone.

IV.Admission and follow-up work

The International College collects the proposed admission list submitted by each training college and publishes it on the website for 10 working days. Upon the expiration of the publicity period, the International College will issue admission letters based on approval ofrelevantgovernmentdepartmentand FAFU.

Application Checklist

I. Scanned copy of passport personal information page (passport validity shall be at least until February, 2021).

II. The highest education certificate. For non Chinese and English versions, notarized Chinese or English translation shall be attached, and the student at school shall submit the studying certificate issued by the school.

III. The highest academic transcript. For non Chinese and English versions, notarized Chinese or English translation shall be attached.

IV. Study or research plan in China.

V. Resume.

VI. Chinese /English proficiency test certificate or equivalent language proficiency certificate (it is not required for overseas students come from the country where English is the official language and apply for English-teaching majors).

VII. Two letters of recommendation from experts with associate professors or above (no requirement for overseas students applying for bachelor's degree).

VIII. If the applicant is under 18 years old, relevant legal documents of the legal guardian in China shall be submitted.

IX. The fund guarantee certificate issued by the bank or the guarantee certificate issued by the economic guarantor (no requirement for scholarship students).

X. Scanned copy of physical examination form for foreigners (uniformly printed by China Health and quarantine department). The applicant shall carry out the examination in strict accordance with the items required in the physical examination form for foreigners. The physical examination form without items, personal photo, stamp on the photo, signature of doctor and seal of hospital is invalid, the validity period of physical examination result is 6 months.

XI. Electronic version of personal ID photo.

ScholarshipsTypes

I. CSC（China Scholarship Commission)Scholarships:

A. CSC will cover the student insurance,which is RMB 800/per year.

B. Subsidy standards for students with CSC scholarships:

Undergraduates: RMB 2500/per month;

Masters and Junior Visiting Scholars: RMB 3000/per month;

PhD and Senior Visiting Scholars: RMB 3500/per month.

C. Tuition and accommodation are free to all CSC scholarship students. The free accommodation provided is FAFU Overseas Students Apartment inside campus. Undergraduates share four-person room, Master students share double room and PhD has a single room.

II. Fujian Government Scholarships

The standard of Fujian Government Scholarship shall be implemented by reference to Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University Scholarship.

III. Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University Scholarships

A. FAFU will cover the student insurance,which is RMB 800/per year.

B. Subsidy standards for students with FAFU scholarships:

Undergraduates: RMB1500/per month;

Masters and Junior Visiting Scholars: RMB 2000/per month;

PhD and Senior Visiting Scholars: RMB 2500/per month.

C. Tuition and accommodation are free to all FAFU scholarship students. The free accommodation provided is FAFU Overseas Students Apartment inside campus. Undergraduates share four-person room, Master students share double room and PhD has a single room.

Additional Remarks

I. Fraud Application

As for the fraud applicant, whenever it is verified, the application qualification and admission qualification will be cancelled according to the relevant provisions of the state and the school, and even the student will be expelled. If a crime is constituted, the judicial organ will investigate the criminal responsibility according to law. The result about the fraud applicant to be dealt with will be reported to the relevant national administrative departments and the embassies and consulates of the applicant's country in China.

I. Applying to the study Visa for China

International students have to apply for the Chinese Visa at the embassies and consulates of China in your home countries. Documents needed when applying for the visa are a valid passport, original copy of admission letter of the university and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China (also known as the JW202 or JW201 Form ).

II. Physical Examination

Before coming to China, international students should have the physical examination in accordance with the Foreigner's Health Certificate in your home countries. You can also have the physical examination after your arrival in China. Those who have had the physical examination in your home countries must have the result verified at Fuzhou Health and Quarantine Bureau. If it is not accepted, students will have to retake the physical examination until get a health report by Fuzhou Health and Quarantine Bureau.
