Dr. Yuntao Zhu is a school-recruited professor at Jiangnan University, doctoral supervisor, and assistant to the dean of the School of Life Sciences and Health Engineering. In 2023, he was selected into the Ministry of Education’s Overseas Postdoctoral Talent Recruitment Special Program and Distinguished Professor in Jiangsu Province. He serves as a member of the Glycobiology Branch of the Chinese Biophysical Society.

He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Jilin University in 2012 and his doctorate in chemical biology from Peking University in 2017. From 2017 to 2021, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, focusing on carbohydrate chemistry. He joined the School of Life Sciences and Health Engineering of Jiangnan University in 2022.

He has won the Outstanding Doctoral Thesis of Peking University, the President’s Scholarship of Peking University, the Innovation Award of Peking University, and the National Scholarship for Doctoral Students. Currently, he is in charge of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Project, Jiangsu Provincial Talent Project and Enterprise Cooperation Project. He has published 27 SCI papers, and his representative works are included in journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., ACS Chem. Biol., etc. The total number of citations of the papers exceeds 1,600 times. His main research interests include the development of oligosaccharide chemical synthesis strategies, exploration of solid-phase synthesis of complex glycans, and research on the design, synthesis and application of biomolecule probes.
