ABOUT US

The State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resources (SKLF, formerly known as the State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Technology) was approved and established by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China in 2007. SKLF is China’s first State Key Laboratory in Food Science and Technology, relying on Jiangnan University and Nanchang University. In 2022, SKLF passed the reorganization of State Key Laboratories in the field of agriculture. The director of SKLF is Professor Wei Chen (the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), and the Academic Committee Director is Professor Baoguo Sun (the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering).

SKLF is dedicated to applied basic research, focusing on national strategies such as “food security” and “healthy China”. Implementing the spirit of “Greater Food”, SKLF would aim at the frontier of world food science and technology, and carry out the basic scientific research and key technology innovation on food resources. The mission of SKLF is to strengthen China's future food supply security capabilities, create a leading edge in mining and development of food resources, and cultivate national strategic scientific and technological strength in the field of food.
